As she was about to re-enter the car, the suspect allegedly grabbed her by the throat and warned her, “Don’t make ah scene or I will kill you.”

Forcing her over to the passenger seat, the African male got into the driver’s seat and relieved the officer of TT $400 in cash; one gold chain valued at TT $1,400; one gold ring valued at TT $2,500; two gold bands; and one Samsung cell phone.

After demanding more money from the victim, the suspect reportedly drove the officer to RBC, Independence Square, Port-of-Spain and entered the fast-service area with her and ordered her to withdraw TT $3,000 in cash.

He then forced her back into the car and as he drove along Broadway – he stopped the car and ran off in a southerly direction.

The officer made her way to the Central Police Station (CPS), St Vincent Street and reported the incident.

The victim was later taken for medical treatment.

Investigating officials requested the CCTV footage from the bank and that has since been forwarded to the Cyber Crimes Unit.

The car was processed and fingerprints were also obtained.
