A St. Joseph man is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore a Port of Spain Mag­is­trate to­day, charged with the mur­der of Stephon Gar­rick, which oc­curred on Tues­day 15 No­vem­ber 2022.

A re­lease from the Po­lice Ser­vice says Christo­pher Fran­cois, 25, of Aber­crom­by Street, al­so was charged with at­tempt­ed mur­der, shoot­ing with in­tent and pos­ses­sion of firearm and am­mu­ni­tion, fol­low­ing ad­vice re­ceived from Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions, Roger Gas­pard SC, on Mon­day 28 No­vem­ber 2022.

Gar­rick, 40 of Barataria, was in the com­pa­ny of two oth­er men at San­ta Cruz Old Road, San Juan, on No­vem­ber15, when sev­er­al loud ex­plo­sions were heard. The vic­tim died at the scene, while the oth­er two men, who sus­tained gun­shot wounds, were tak­en to hos­pi­tal for treat­ment.

A male sus­pect—Christo­pher Fran­cois—was ar­rest­ed on No­vem­ber 26, by of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions (Re­gion Two), in the St. Joseph dis­trict,

In­ves­ti­ga­tions were su­per­vised by ASP Dou­glas, W/In­sp. Sylvester, In­sp. Ram­jag and Sgt. Rad­haykissoon al­so of HBI Re­gion Two.

Fran­cois was charged with the of­fences yes­ter­day (No­vem­ber 29) by WPC Sargeant, of HBI Re­gion Two.
