Police say they have deported several foreign nationals, including two Brazilians, who entered St. Lucia illegally in recent weeks.
The police said that while they remain committed to protecting the island’s borders “anyone with information regarding prohibited immigrants is asked to contact the nearest police station”.
They said that Brazilians Felipe Souza Dos Santos,38, and 47-year-old Marcelo Sabino Intimo had entered the island at a port other than an authorised port of entry between December 31 last year and February 2 this year.
They said both men were taken before a magistrate court last Monday where they pleaded guilty to the charge and remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility. On Monday, his week, the First District Court issued an order for their removal from he island.
Police said they had also detained Yocaira Del Carmen Garcia Peralta, a 32 year-old Dominican Republic national and that she has since been repatriated to the Dominican Republic.
The authorities said that 45 -year old Colombian Brank Jofet Rodriguez Morales, who entered the island illegally on February 3, has since been removed from the state.
