Po­lice say they have de­port­ed sev­er­al for­eign na­tion­als, in­clud­ing two Brazil­ians, who en­tered St. Lu­cia il­le­gal­ly in re­cent weeks.

The po­lice said that while they re­main com­mit­ted to pro­tect­ing the is­land’s bor­ders “any­one with in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing pro­hib­it­ed im­mi­grants is asked to con­tact the near­est po­lice sta­tion”.

They said that Brazil­ians Fe­lipe Souza Dos San­tos,38, and  47-year-old Marce­lo Sabi­no In­ti­mo had en­tered the is­land at a port oth­er than an au­tho­rised port of en­try be­tween De­cem­ber 31 last year and Feb­ru­ary 2 this year.

They said both men were tak­en be­fore a mag­is­trate court last Mon­day where they plead­ed guilty to the charge and re­mand­ed to the Bor­de­lais Cor­rec­tion­al Fa­cil­i­ty. On Mon­day,  his week, the First Dis­trict Court is­sued an or­der for their re­moval from he is­land.

Po­lice said they had al­so de­tained Yocaira Del Car­men Gar­cia Per­al­ta, a 32 year-old  Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic na­tion­al and that she has since been repa­tri­at­ed to the Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic.

The au­thor­i­ties said that 45 -year old Colom­bian Brank Jofet Ro­driguez Morales, who en­tered the is­land il­le­gal­ly on Feb­ru­ary 3, has since been re­moved from the state.
