Quick action by police led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle in La Romaine early Thursday morning, though the suspects managed to escape.
The 27-year-old owner had parked his beige Nissan Almera, valued at $30,000, in an unsecured garage outside his Pond Street home around 12:45 a.m., leaving the key in the ignition. Around 3:20 a.m., he discovered the car was missing and contacted the police.
Officers from the San Fernando CID, Southern Division Task Force, and Crime Patrol units intercepted the vehicle in the area. However, the two occupants jumped out at the corner of Church and Gail Streets and escaped on foot. Investigations are ongoing.
