The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS) says a blue Nis­san Almera re­port­ed stolen in Wood­brook ear­ly this morn­ing was re­cov­ered in less than 20 min­utes due to the "quick re­sponse and dili­gent work of of­fi­cers."

Ac­cord­ing to the TTPS, five males in­clud­ing a ju­ve­nile, all from Cal­vary Hill, Ari­ma, were al­so ar­rest­ed.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, the car was re­port­ed stolen around 3:15 am to­day af­ter be­ing parked along Ros­ali­no Street in the vicin­i­ty of Seigert Square around 12 am.

Of­fi­cers mak­ing checks for the ve­hi­cle in the area pro­ceed­ed to Tra­garete Road near the Queen’s Park Oval af­ter re­ceiv­ing an alert from the Com­mand Cen­tre.

Po­lice say the stolen ve­hi­cle was found crashed on­to the pave­ment with the bat­tery miss­ing from it.

"In­tel­li­gence-led polic­ing re­sult­ed in of­fi­cers ob­tain­ing in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing the de­scrip­tion of the sus­pects as well as their get­away ve­hi­cle, a sil­ver Aqua which had been al­leged­ly seen on Mur­ray Street near a com­mer­cial bank in the area," the TTPS said.

Of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to the lo­ca­tion where they in­ter­cept­ed the ve­hi­cle.

They say a car bat­tery was al­leged­ly found in the trunk.

Car-break­ing im­ple­ments were al­so al­leged­ly re­cov­ered from the ve­hi­cle.

The oc­cu­pants, four men, and one ju­ve­nile, were ar­rest­ed with the as­sis­tance of of­fi­cers from the Cen­tral Po­lice Sta­tion and the Cap­i­tal City Pa­trol Unit and tak­en to the Wood­brook Po­lice Sta­tion along with both ve­hi­cles.
