Act­ing Prime Min­is­ter Stu­art Young SC MP chaired a Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Coun­cil (NSC) meet­ing at White­hall, this af­ter­noon, the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter (OPM) has con­firmed.

A re­lease in the OPM’s so­cial me­dia pages re­ports that Min­is­ter Young al­so chaired the week­ly Cab­i­net meet­ing, which was held this morn­ing.  He is act­ing as Prime Min­is­ter while Dr Kei­th Row­ley is out of the coun­try.

Dur­ing this af­ter­noon’s NSC meet­ing, heads of the pro­tec­tive ser­vices pre­sent­ed their im­me­di­ate plans and ini­tia­tives to con­front the vi­o­lent and in­tru­sive crimes and crim­i­nal ac­tiv­i­ty tak­ing place, the OPM’s re­lease re­vealed.

In at­ten­dance at the meet­ing were Com­mis­sion­er of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS), Ms Er­la Hare­wood-Christo­pher; Chief of De­fence Staff, Air Vice Mar­shall Dar­ryl Daniel; and Di­rec­tor of the Strate­gic Ser­vices Agency (SSA), Brigadier Gen­er­al (Ret’d) An­tho­ny Phillips-Spencer.

Al­so at the meet­ing were Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Op­er­a­tions, Ju­nior Ben­jamin; Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Ad­min­is­tra­tion, Natasha George; Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice, In­tel­li­gence and In­ves­ti­ga­tions Suzette Mar­tin; as well as Lt. Com­man­der Sher­rise Moore and of­fi­cers of the SSA.

Min­is­ter of Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty, Fitzger­ald Hinds MP, was present at the meet­ing, along with oth­er mem­bers of the Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Coun­cil.
