The Student Professional Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago (SPOTT) is set to host a developmental event, “Presenting Yourself to the World” on May 17 at the Belmont Community Centre.
It is dedicated to equipping young people with essential skills for personal and professional success.
“Presenting Yourself to the World” is designed to support young people in navigating the crucial process of developing a strong personal brand, refining their job-hunting techniques, understanding the impact of body language, and much more.
In a statement on Wednesday, SPOTT said, “Recognising the challenges young people face in transitioning from academia to the world of work and business, SPOTT is committed to providing practical guidance and fostering confidence.”
The event will feature workshops and presentations covering key areas such as:
Personal Branding: Discovering and articulating your unique value proposition.
Job Hunting Skills: Mastering resume writing, interview techniques, and networking strategies.
Effective Communication: Understanding and utilizing positive body language and verbal communication.
Professional Etiquette: Navigating social and professional interactions with confidence.
“We understand the importance of providing young people with the tools they need to succeed,” says SPOTT director Jiselle Granderson. “Presenting Yourself to the World is a direct response to the needs of our youth, offering practical strategies and fostering the self-assurance necessary to make a positive impact in all aspects of their lives.”
This event is open to all young people in Trinidad and Tobago who are eager to invest in their personal and professional development. SPOTT is encouraging students, recent graduates, and young professionals to take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
