Min­is­ter of De­fense Wayne Sturge, and Min­is­ter of Home­land Se­cu­ri­ty Roger Alexan­der, ar­rived for their first day of work at Tem­ple Court, Aber­crom­by Street, to­day.

Both Alexan­der and Sturge met with min­istry of­fi­cials in­clud­ing per­ma­nent sec­re­taries and were ex­pect­ed to be briefed on the state of Trinidad and To­ba­go's se­cu­ri­ty agen­cies.

Both min­istries will play a crit­i­cal role in se­cu­ri­ty mat­ters both do­mes­tic and transna­tion­al, as Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar has set a goal of hav­ing “a safer T&T” with­in six months.
