Cen­tral Di­vi­sion of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed one man and seized a quan­ti­ty of mar­i­jua­na dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise yes­ter­day.

The TTPS said an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed be­tween 3 pm and 6 pm yes­ter­day, in­volv­ing of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force (CDTF), Area South and Ca­roni K9 Unit, pay­ing spe­cial at­ten­tion to drug blocks in the Cou­va and Freeport area.

The of­fi­cers then pro­ceed­ed to a South­ern Main Road, Ca­roni, ad­dress, where a war­rant was ex­e­cut­ed on the home of a 21- year-old pri­or­i­ty of­fend­er.

Up­on search­ing the of­fend­er’s bed­room, the of­fi­cers re­port­ed­ly dis­cov­ered four rec­tan­gu­lar ob­jects, wrapped in red and brown plas­tic, each con­tain­ing mar­i­jua­na.

The man was ar­rest­ed and the nar­cotics, which weighed 2.1 kg, with an es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of $65,000, was seized and con­veyed to the Cou­va Po­lice Sta­tion.
