A man was ar­rest­ed and a firearm seized by of­fi­cers of the Port of Spain Task Force (POSTF) fol­low­ing a shoot­ing in­ci­dent in Laven­tille on Sun­day morn­ing.

A man al­leged­ly gave an ac­count to the po­lice about how his son came by gun­shot in­juries dur­ing a shoot­ing in­ci­dent which oc­curred around 6:30 am on Sun­day.

The vic­tim mean­while was con­veyed to the Port of Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal for treat­ment.

A team of of­fi­cers sub­se­quent­ly vis­it­ed the vic­tim at hos­pi­tal where fur­ther in­for­ma­tion was re­ceived from him.

Based on the in­for­ma­tion, of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise at the home of a male sus­pect.

A search of the premis­es re­sult­ed in one firearm be­ing found in­side a draw­er. A fe­male sus­pect who was in the house at the time of the search was ar­rest­ed.

Of­fi­cers of the POSTF based on fur­ther in­for­ma­tion re­ceived, sub­se­quent­ly ar­rest­ed a male sus­pect in a taxi along Laven­tille Road.
