The Police Service says keen powers of observation and a quick response by officers of Western Division, led to the arrest of two suspected car thieves yesterday.
In a media release, the TTPS said around 7:15 p.m. a man parked and secured his Toyota Aqua Hybrid vehicle, in the grassy area along Audrey Jeffers Highway, opposite the Hasely Crawford Stadium, in the vicinity of the Wrightson Road Extension traffic lights, and went away.
They say around 9:45 p.m. when he returned to his vehicle police officers who were on patrol informed him that his vehicle had been broken into.
Reports said that while on patrol the officers observed two men attempting to gain entry into a vehicle.
Upon closer inspection the officers also noticed that the rear glass was broken and missing.
The officers detained a 22-year-old male from Port of Spain and a 38-year-old from San Juan at the scene and they were taken to the St James Police Station.
