The Po­lice Ser­vice says keen pow­ers of ob­ser­va­tion and a quick re­sponse by of­fi­cers of West­ern Di­vi­sion, led to the ar­rest of two sus­pect­ed car thieves yes­ter­day. 

In a me­dia re­lease, the TTPS said around 7:15 p.m. a man parked and se­cured his Toy­ota Aqua Hy­brid ve­hi­cle, in the grassy area along Au­drey Jef­fers High­way, op­po­site the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um, in the vicin­i­ty of the Wright­son Road Ex­ten­sion traf­fic lights, and went away. 

They say around 9:45 p.m. when he re­turned to his ve­hi­cle po­lice of­fi­cers who were on pa­trol in­formed him that his ve­hi­cle had been bro­ken in­to. 

Re­ports said that while on pa­trol the of­fi­cers ob­served two men at­tempt­ing to gain en­try in­to a ve­hi­cle. 

Up­on clos­er in­spec­tion the of­fi­cers al­so no­ticed that the rear glass was bro­ken and miss­ing. 

The of­fi­cers de­tained a 22-year-old male from Port of Spain and a 38-year-old from San Juan at the scene and they were tak­en to the St James Po­lice Sta­tion.
