Sen­a­tor Kennedy Swarats­ingh has been giv­en an­oth­er role as Min­is­ter in the Min­istry of Fi­nance, ef­fec­tive May 13, 2025. The Of­fice of the Pres­i­dent con­firmed the ap­point­ment, made on the ad­vice of the Prime Min­is­ter un­der sec­tion 76(3) of the Con­sti­tu­tion.

It was pub­lished in the Gazette. 

Swarats­ingh will hold the Fi­nance post in ad­di­tion to his cur­rent role as Min­is­ter of Plan­ning, Eco­nom­ic Af­fairs and De­vel­op­ment.

He now joins Min­is­ter of Fi­nance Dav­en­dranath Tan­coo in the min­istry.
