The Trinidad and To­ba­go Sol­id Waste Man­age­ment Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed (SWM­COL) says the fire at the For­res Park Land­fill has been "sig­nif­i­cant­ly cov­ered."

The fire at the dump start­ed on Jan­u­ary 6 and the smoke has been caus­ing prob­lems for res­i­dents who live near­by.

SWM­COL has been pro­vid­ing dai­ly up­dates on the fire and to­day it says the cov­er­ing of the fire has re­sult­ed in min­i­mal smoke em­a­nat­ing from the site.

SWM­COL is apol­o­giz­ing for the in­con­ve­nience caused due to the fire and will pro­vide sub­se­quent up­dates as nec­es­sary.
