Min­is­ter of Fi­nance, Dave Tan­coo, pre­sent­ed in­stru­ments of ap­point­ment to new mem­bers of the Board of Di­rec­tors of the Na­tion­al Lot­ter­ies Con­trol Board on Mon­day.

The Gov­ern­ment has ap­proved the fol­low­ing ap­point­ments to the Board: Ken Em­rith, Chair­man; Mo­hanie Ram­nar­ine; Clarence Ja­groops­ingh; Paras­ram Bri­an Ma­haraj; Adam Raza­ck; Ha­randé Elie; Cur­ley Ke­sar; and Bren­da John.

Tan­coo for­mal­ly hand­ed over the in­stru­ments dur­ing a brief cer­e­mo­ny. He ex­pressed ap­pre­ci­a­tion to the mem­bers of the Board for their will­ing­ness to serve.

The new Board will over­see the op­er­a­tions of the Na­tion­al Lot­ter­ies Con­trol Board, which man­ages the ad­min­is­tra­tion and reg­u­la­tion of games of chance un­der its ju­ris­dic­tion. The ap­point­ments take im­me­di­ate ef­fect.

The Min­is­ter al­so ex­tend­ed thanks to out­go­ing mem­bers of the Board for their ser­vice to the peo­ple of Trinidad and To­ba­go. He not­ed the im­por­tance of con­ti­nu­ity and ac­count­abil­i­ty in the over­sight of state en­ter­pris­es.

The new board is ex­pect­ed to con­tin­ue ef­forts to im­prove gov­er­nance, trans­paren­cy, and ef­fi­cien­cy with­in the op­er­a­tions of the NL­CB.
