A taxi driver was robbed of his car while working in San Juan early Monday morning.
Police said the driver was plying his black Nissan Almera, registration HCD 9387, along the Eastern Main Road around 4:50 am when he picked up a man near TTPost, San Juan.
The passenger asked to be taken to Upper 6th Avenue, Malick, Barataria. When they reached the St Theresa’s RC Church, the man announced a robbery and told the driver to stop the car.
The driver reported that the man held onto his waist and threatened, “Ah will shoot yuh.” Out of fear, he complied. The suspect then pushed him out of the vehicle, got into the driver’s seat and drove off north along 6th Avenue, Malick.
Police issued an all-points bulletin for the stolen vehicle and say investigations are continuing.
