Three suspects, including a teenager, were arrested, a firearm seized and a vehicle which was reported stolen, recovered, by officers of the North Central Task Force during an anti-crime exercise over the weekend.
The exercise was conducted between 10 pm, on Saturday and 3 am on Sunday during which officers investigating a report of motor vehicle larceny, intercepted a Mazda 3 motor vehicle with three male occupants in the St. Helena district.
A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding one Taurus revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition.
Further investigations, resulted in the stolen vehicle, a white Y11 motor vehicle, being recovered in the Piarco district shortly after.
The three suspects, ages 17 to 28, of Tunapuna and Aranguez, were arrested in connection with the incident.
The trio was also wanted in connection with other firearms, robbery and shooting-related offences.
