Three sus­pects, in­clud­ing a teenag­er, were ar­rest­ed, a firearm seized and a ve­hi­cle which was re­port­ed stolen, re­cov­ered, by of­fi­cers of the North Cen­tral Task Force dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise over the week­end.

The ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed be­tween 10 pm, on Sat­ur­day and 3 am on Sun­day dur­ing which of­fi­cers in­ves­ti­gat­ing a re­port of mo­tor ve­hi­cle lar­ce­ny, in­ter­cept­ed a Maz­da 3 mo­tor ve­hi­cle with three male oc­cu­pants in the St. He­le­na dis­trict.

A search of the ve­hi­cle re­sult­ed in of­fi­cers find­ing one Tau­rus re­volver loaded with five rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

Fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions, re­sult­ed in the stolen ve­hi­cle, a white Y11 mo­tor ve­hi­cle, be­ing re­cov­ered in the Pi­ar­co dis­trict short­ly af­ter.

The three sus­pects, ages 17 to 28, of Tu­na­puna and Aranguez, were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the in­ci­dent.

The trio was al­so want­ed in con­nec­tion with oth­er firearms, rob­bery and shoot­ing-re­lat­ed of­fences.
