A 15-year-old La Ro­maine High School stu­dent was hos­pi­talised in crit­i­cal con­di­tion on Tues­day af­ter he and four school­mates re­port­ed­ly in­gest­ed an un­known sub­stance.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, around 10.50 am, po­lice of­fi­cers as­signed to the school no­ticed the teenag­er be­hav­ing er­rat­i­cal­ly af­ter con­sum­ing the sub­stance. He was tak­en to the staff room, where he col­lapsed. The school im­me­di­ate­ly con­tact­ed his moth­er, who took him to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

Doc­tors lat­er trans­ferred him to the In­ten­sive Care Unit, where he was last re­port­ed to be in sta­ble con­di­tion.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors learned that four oth­er stu­dents, ages 15 to 17, al­so con­sumed the sub­stance. They were tak­en to hos­pi­tal for eval­u­a­tion but were not ad­mit­ted and re­mained in sta­ble con­di­tion.
