A shoot­ing at a Matu­ra Ho­tel has left a mi­nor in­jured.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports around 4:45 am a 17-year-old was at Tri­ni Riv­er Lime Ho­tel at Orosco Road, Matu­ra when some men came to the ho­tel forced open his room and opened fire on him.

He es­caped by jump­ing through a win­dow and was shot on his left leg and he ran in­to a near­by build­ing and hid from the shoot­ers. 

The shoot­ers en­tered a car and drove away.

A re­port was made to the near­by Matu­ra Po­lice Sta­tion.

Ag Sgt Hazel, Pcs Ram­per­sad and Cara­bel­la re­spond­ed.

He was tak­en by po­lice at­tached to Matu­ra Po­lice Sta­tion to San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal where he was treat­ed and ward­ed.
