Teen wins fourth Mastana round

Shali­ni Juter­am, 14, won the fourth pre­lim­i­nary round of the Chil­dren of Mas­tana 2010 com­pe­ti­tion last week. The San­gre Grande res­i­dent, a stu­dent of the SWA­HA Hin­du Col­lege, pleased the judges with an en­er­getic mod­ern film dance, chore­o­graphed by Col­in Ram­per­sad. Plac­ing sec­ond was Kar­ish­ma Sub­naik, of Pe­nal, while Visha­la Dow­tal, of Fe­lic­i­ty, copped the third prize. The fourth prize was won by dancer Lil­ly Che, of Clax­ton Bay, and the fifth prize went to Shiv­anand Soo­chit of Princes Town.

Mean­while, the fol­low­ing con­tes­tants have been se­lect­ed to ap­pear on the fifth pre­lim­i­nary round of the com­pe­ti­tion:

This pro­gramme will be record­ed to­day from 5.30 pm at the Ram­per­sad Broth­ers Ranch, Ra­ju Trace, San Fran­cique Vil­lage, Pe­nal. Jack­pot for the Pick-a-Pan con­test this week is $2,650 cash, spon­sored by the Na­tion­al Flour Mills. The fi­nal au­di­tion and meet­ing for all se­mi-fi­nal­ists of the com­pe­ti­tion will take place on Sun­day at the res­i­dence of Su­ru­jdeo Mungroo, Tul­sa Trace, Pe­nal.

Reg­is­tra­tion starts at 10 am.
