The To­ba­go Emer­gency Man­age­ment Agency (TEMA) is on height­ened alert as the is­land faces the ef­fects of the fourth trop­i­cal wave of the 2025 At­lantic sea­son.

By 2 p.m. on Tues­day 10th June, TEMA had re­ceived ten re­ports of weath­er-re­lat­ed in­ci­dents, in­clud­ing flood­ing, fall­en trees, and elec­tri­cal haz­ards in sev­er­al com­mu­ni­ties. Most in­ci­dents were ad­dressed and cleared by emer­gency re­spon­ders.

Key in­ci­dents in­clud­ed fall­en trees block­ing roads in Ma­son Hall, Glam­or­gan, Belle Gar­den, and Char­lot­teville; flood­ing at homes in Whim and Scar­bor­ough; a tree col­lapse on a house in De­laford; and high-ten­sion elec­tri­cal wires rest­ing on a rooftop in Belle Gar­den.

As a pre­cau­tion, the Sec­re­tary for Ed­u­ca­tion or­dered the clo­sure of all schools across To­ba­go at ap­prox­i­mate­ly 10:30 a.m. on Tues­day.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice (TTMS) has is­sued a Yel­low Lev­el Ad­verse Weath­er Alert #2, in ef­fect un­til 4 p.m. on Wednes­day 11th June. The alert warns of gusty winds, street and flash flood­ing, and the like­li­hood of more trop­i­cal waves af­fect­ing the re­gion through Fri­day 13th June.

TEMA con­tin­ues to mon­i­tor the sit­u­a­tion close­ly and is co­or­di­nat­ing with key agen­cies. The To­ba­go Emer­gency Op­er­a­tions Cen­tre (TEOC) re­mains on stand­by and may be ac­ti­vat­ed if re­ports es­ca­late or con­di­tions de­te­ri­o­rate.
