Police are investigating the curious case of the theft of over a million dollars worth of cheese from an Arima warehouse.
Police say the purchasing supervisor for the ADM Distributors Warehouse, located along the Carapo Main Road, Carapo, was making an inventory check yesterday, when they realised that 1,042 cases of New Zealand Cheese valued at $1,073,260 was missing.
Also missing were almost 2,000 cases of Rainbow Corn Beef valued at around $695,742.
Enquiries are continuing.
