Po­lice are in­vestigating the cu­ri­ous case of the theft of over a mil­lion dol­lars worth of cheese from an Ari­ma ware­house.

Po­lice say the pur­chas­ing su­per­vi­sor for the ADM Dis­trib­u­tors Ware­house, lo­cat­ed along the Cara­po Main Road, Cara­po, was mak­ing an in­ven­to­ry check yes­ter­day, when they re­alised that 1,042 cas­es of New Zealand Cheese val­ued at $1,073,260 was miss­ing.

Al­so miss­ing were al­most 2,000 cas­es of Rain­bow Corn Beef val­ued at around $695,742.
