Thieves stole eight hy­brid bat­ter­ies from un­reg­is­tered ve­hi­cles at a pri­vate car deal­er­ship in Cou­va be­tween May 26 and Fri­day.

The 42-year-old own­er of Casa En­ter­pris­es Lim­it­ed, lo­cat­ed on South­ern Main Road, Mc Bean, Cou­va, se­cured the ve­hi­cles at the premis­es around 9 am on May 26, 2025, and locked the gate be­fore leav­ing.

When she re­turned to the busi­ness around 1 pm on Sat­ur­day (June 7, 2025), she found the gate’s chain and lock bro­ken.

Af­ter check­ing the lot, she dis­cov­ered three Toy­ota Field­er Wag­ons and five Toy­ota Aquas with their quar­ter glass smashed and the hy­brid bat­ter­ies miss­ing.
