Thou­sands of cus­tomers across north, cen­tral and south Trinidad will face tem­po­rary wa­ter dis­rup­tions on Thurs­day night due to emer­gency main­te­nance at the Ca­roni Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant.

In a me­dia re­lease is­sued yes­ter­day, the Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) an­nounced that the shut­down will take place be­tween 8 pm and mid­night on Ju­ly 24. 

The au­thor­i­ty said the out­age was nec­es­sary to car­ry out ur­gent elec­tri­cal main­te­nance at the fa­cil­i­ty.

The af­fect­ed ar­eas span a wide ge­o­graph­ic re­gion, from as far north as Cas­cade to far south as Pe­nal.

Sad­dle Road, San Juan; Laven­tille Road; Febeau Vil­lage; Mal­ick; Barataria; Mor­vant; East Dry Riv­er; Port-of-Spain; St Barbs; Gon­za­les; Bagatelle; Suc­cess Vil­lage, Laven­tille; Trou Macaque; St Ann’s; Cas­cade; Dibe; Long Cir­cu­lar; St James; Co­corite; and Bel­mont.

Cen­tral and

South Trinidad

WASA has warned that while the shut­down will last for four hours, it may take up to 12 hours af­ter com­ple­tion for the wa­ter sup­ply to ful­ly re­turn to nor­mal in some ar­eas.
