Northern Division police arrested three persons and recovered one firearm in Operation Blue Line Exercises over the past 24 hours.

Officers of Arima Court and Process and Arima Charge Room conducted an intelligence-led exercise, near the scene of a fatalshooting on La Retreat Road, Arima, on Thursday.

The officers conducted a search of a blue and white wooden structure where they discovered a homemade shotgun in a freezer located at the back of the structure. The firearm was seized for further processing.

In another Operation Blue Line exercise that day, officers of the Cumuto Police Station stopped and searched a motor vehicle occupied by three persons.

The officers found five feed bags containing an assortment of citrus fruits in the vehicle. The two women and the man were unable to account for their possession of the items, and were subsequently arrested and charged by PC Pavy for the offence of unlawful possession.

The women, a 26-year-old from Blanchisseuse Road, and a 47-year-old from Caratal Road, Cumoto, along with a 27-year-old San

Francique man, are scheduled to appear before Sangre Grande Magistrate’s 2nd Court today.
