Investigations are continuing into three murders committed in the space of a few hours in Morvant, Las Lomas and St Augustine.
In the latest incident, in St Augustine, a PH driver identified as Jason Anthony Cudjoe, 46, of Ridgewood Terrace, was fatally shot on St John’s Road a short distance from the Eastern Main Road
Police said at about 4 pm Cudjoe was standing near his vehicle when a white Tiida motorcar drove past and its occupants opened fire on him. Cudjoe attempted to run away, but collapsed between two parked cars where he died.
A team of police officers visited the scene along with crime scene investigators. Several rounds of ammunition were recovered.
Acting ACP Wayne Mystar, who was at the scene, said a motive is yet to be established for the killing. A security officer identified as Cudjoe’s common-law-wife was also at the scene but was too distraught to speak.
In Morvant, a man identified only as Tyrone was shot at Red Hill.
He was taken to hospital where he was treated but later succumbed to his injuries.
An unidentified man was found dead at the side of the road in Las Lomas No 2. Police said there was a gash on his neck. The murder count now stands at 21. (RD)
