Three men were shot by gun­men stand­ing on a street in Bel­mont ear­ly on Fri­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said the trio, ages 20, 21 and 26 were trav­el­ling in a grey Nis­san AD Wag­on, on the St Fran­cois Val­ley Road, near Brath­waite Street, around 3 am when they saw a group of men with ri­fles stand­ing in the street.

The gun­men shot at the car, hit­ting the three men.

Bel­mont po­lice were called in and took the men to hos­pi­tal where they re­main ward­ed.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors from the Port of Spain CID are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
