There were three new deaths—two fully vaccinated people and one unvaccinated person—from COVID-19 in Tobago, during the period Sunday 7 to Saturday 13 August 2022, according to the latest weekly update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).
Tobago’s death toll from the disease is 277, as at Saturday, August 13. No COVID-19 deaths had been recorded the week before, Sunday 31 July to Saturday 6 August 2022.
In addition, the THA Health Division report notes 141 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago, last week. The number of active infections, as at Saturday, August 13, was 162. This is a drop from the previous week (July 31 to August 6, 2022), at which time there were 160 active cases.
In terms of hospitalisations for COVID-19, the Health Division reports that 18 people are hospitalised. Ten of these patients are unvaccinated against the disease, while the vaccination status of two patients is unknown, and the remaining six patients are fully vaccinated.
The Tobago COVID-19 update also reports that patients continue to survive from the disease as 218 people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 during the period August 7 to 13, 2022.
A total of 10,282 in Tobago have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020—up from 10,064 the previous week.
