A To­ba­go man was grant­ed bail in the sum of $15,000 by a Jus­tice of the Peace, af­ter he was charged with the of­fence of Ut­ter­ing a Forged Valu­able Se­cu­ri­ty.

AKEEL KERR, 23, of Calder Hall, Scar­bor­ough, was charged with the of­fence by WPC Hamil­ton of the Fraud Squad Of­fice, To­ba­go.

He is to ap­pear in the Scar­bor­ough Mag­is­trates’ Court on Ju­ly 1st, 2024.

A su­per­mar­ket re­port­ed to po­lice that a cheque in the sum of $49.25 was is­sued to a man from whom it bought goods, as pay­ment for said goods. It is al­leged the same man re­turned the fol­low­ing day and pre­sent­ed the cheque for en­cash­ment, but it was dis­cov­ered that the cheque was al­tered and in­flat­ed to read $492.25.

An in­ves­ti­ga­tion was launched in­to the mat­ter and a male sus­pect ar­rest­ed.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion was su­per­vised by Snr. Supt. Groome, In­sp. Thomas and Sgt. Jor­dan, all of the Fraud Squad.
