Both the Scarborough Secondary School and Lambeau Anglican Primary School reopened today after they were temporarily closed, for almost two weeks, due to the oil spill disaster.
The Division of Education, Research & Technology issued a release saying it has ensured that both schools underwent a thorough cleaning processes, including the sanitization of classrooms, facilities, and common areas.
In addition, extensive coastal clean-ups have been conducted to address any external contamination, and therefore students and staff are assured of a safe environment.
Both the Environmental Management Authority and the Institute of Marine Affairs have done air quality testing at the schools and have confirmed there are no pollutants or hazards in the air.
