A Toco man had to be treated at hospital on Saturday after he was stabbed by a relative during an argument.
The 23-year-old victim of Cumana Village, was home with his girlfriend around 6 am on September 17 - when he allegedly got into an altercation with a male relative who lives in Matura.
During the argument, the Matura resident pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the left side of his chest before running off into some bushes.
The injured man was rushed to the Toco Health Centre where he was treated and later transferred to the Sangre Grande Hospital where he was examined and warded in a stable condition.
Whilst there, officers were informed that a second man had been brought to the hospital, suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttock.
They learned the suspect had pointed a gun at him and several other men who had been liming at a house in Cumana, before he entered the house and took up a knife.
As the two began fighting, one of the men who had been outside, pulled out the gun and shot him.
He too was taken to the Toco Health Center and then transferred to the Sangre Grande Hospital.
The second victim was warded in a stable condition up to yesterday.
Investigations are continuing into both incidents.
