Comedian Tommy Joseph is said to be recovering satisfactorily following his recent surgery.
This was confirmed yesterday by his wife Judy Joseph during a telephone interview.
“I thank everyone for the prayers and I’m happy to say that he’s doing much better than before. Physiotherapy has started for him because he still cannot walk but he’s doing great,” Judy said.
She added that she now has to transform their home in such a way that he will be comfortable when he’s discharged.
“Our bedroom is upstairs so I will have to make arrangements for keeping him comfortable downstairs because of him not being able to walk. It will have to be accommodating and accessible for him,” she said.
Joseph recently suffered a stroke and underwent surgery last Friday.
Since Joseph’s stroke, his close friends and colleagues have commenced fundraising efforts to help with his after-surgery care.
Joseph’s close friend and colleague, Natalie Morales, has organised a charity event carded for this Saturday.
The event, “Stand-up with Tommy,” will take place from 6 pm at Sensational Sammy Seafood Plus along the Eastern Main Road in Arima. Admission is $200.
A Go-Fund-Me account has been established to accept contributions to assist the family with any additional expenses at: https://fundmetnt.com/campaign/stand-up-with-tommy
Efforts are being made to broadcast the event, which will feature top entertainers, comedians and DJs.
“Laughter will be shared, love will be expressed, and support will be shown for a legend! Let’s surround him in prayer!” Morales said in a social media advertisement for the event.
