The all-new 2021 Toyota Raize – an instantly recognizable, fun-to-drive compact SUV for those with active lifestyles was recently revealed on Friday 19th November 2021 at a launch event held at the Toyota showroom, San Fernando.
The Toyota Raize is complete with a compact body and excellent visibility which enables impressive manoeuvrability. Built with the passenger in mind, the versatile, spacious and well-appointed cabin is built with enhanced protection, and provides ample storage and space for daily and recreational use, in addition to responsive and smooth ‘as desired’ performance for greater driving pleasure.
It is the perfect fit for young professionals, small families and first time SUV owners.
As for driving performance, Toyota’s T&T General Manager Robert Thompson said the Raize's newly developed lightweight, highly rigid body and suspension contribute to outstanding handling stability and ride comfort. “The all-new Toyota Raize is equipped with two engine options – a newly developed 1.2L naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0L turbocharged engine. The 1.0L turbo offers a low-end torque equivalent to a 1.5-liter-class engine for powerful, smooth acceleration.”
He said the SUV is built with the passenger in mind and the cabin is designed with six air bags for enhanced protection, while the frame uses high-tensile-strength material for increased rigidity, “The newly developed CVT realizes excellent fuel efficiency and quietness. The new split gear enables wider gear ratio range compared to typical CVT, while offering powerful and smooth acceleration at low speeds; and quiet and efficient acceleration at high speeds.”
One of the unique offerings, he noted, is the ample storage with the size, shape and location of each space specifically designed for maximum versatility, “The compact SUV boasts a class-leading 369-liter luggage capacity; the rear seats can also be folded to further increase the cargo space available, enabling particularly large or long items of luggage to be loaded. In addition, there are storage solutions located throughout the cabin, resulting in a highly convenient interior space.”
