Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism, Satyakama Maharaj, has held discussions on trade and investment potentialities with His Excellency Jon Dean, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

According to a statement from the Ministry, the meeting featured "cordial discussions" on a wide range of areas, including bilateral trade, investment cooperation, public/private sector partnerships, and avenues for trade partnerships to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) between Trinidad and Tobago and the United Kingdom.

His Excellency also underscored the importance of deepening the long-standing and mutually beneficial trade relationship between both nations.

Minister Maharaj echoed those sentiments, reaffirming T&T’s openness to business and the Ministry’s commitment to diversifying the national economy beyond oil and gas.
