The To­ba­go Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty (TRHA) has been or­dered to pay a for­mer Se­cu­ri­ty Man­ag­er the sum of $200,000 af­ter he won a High Court ac­tion against them.

The mat­ter was heard at the Port of Spain High Court.

Through his at­tor­ney Mar­tin George, Hugh Lovell sued the TRHA for un­paid wages, rep­re­sent­ing the bal­ance of his month­ly con­tract pay­ments, when he was called to a meet­ing and sum­mar­i­ly dis­missed by the TRHA.

In his claim, Lovell said the TRHA nev­er pro­vid­ed him with a prop­er job de­scrip­tion, nor any per­for­mance ap­praisals. He al­so de­tailed how ef­fi­cient­ly and ef­fec­tive­ly he per­formed, yet the TRHA capri­cious­ly and sum­mar­i­ly ter­mi­nat­ed his em­ploy­ment.

The mat­ter was heard by Jus­tice Dean-Ar­mor­er, who ruled against the TRHA and or­dered pay­ment of the monies to be made to Lovell.
