The Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA) has been ordered to pay a former Security Manager the sum of $200,000 after he won a High Court action against them.
The matter was heard at the Port of Spain High Court.
Through his attorney Martin George, Hugh Lovell sued the TRHA for unpaid wages, representing the balance of his monthly contract payments, when he was called to a meeting and summarily dismissed by the TRHA.
In his claim, Lovell said the TRHA never provided him with a proper job description, nor any performance appraisals. He also detailed how efficiently and effectively he performed, yet the TRHA capriciously and summarily terminated his employment.
The matter was heard by Justice Dean-Armorer, who ruled against the TRHA and ordered payment of the monies to be made to Lovell.
