The Trinidad and To­ba­go Cadet Force held its 114th An­niver­sary An­nu­al In­spec­tion Pa­rade at Skin­ner Park, San Fer­nan­do, on Sat­ur­day 25 May 2024.

Sev­er­al top per­form­ing cadets re­ceived spe­cial awards from Min­is­ter of Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Fitzger­ald Hinds MP. 

Min­is­ter Hinds al­so pre­sent­ed awards to the Caribbean Cadet Medals Re­cip­i­ents and the Com­man­dant's Ef­fi­cien­cy Award Re­cip­i­ents.

Al­so present to cel­e­brate the Cadets’ an­niver­sary was His Ex­cel­len­cy Nigel de Fre­itas, Act­ing Pres­i­dent of the Re­pub­lic of Trinidad and To­ba­go, who con­grat­u­lat­ed the T&T Cadet Force on 114 Years of Ex­cel­lence.

Ac­cord­ing to the Min­istry of Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty’s web­site:

“The Trinidad and To­ba­go Cadet Force is a vol­un­tary youth or­gan­i­sa­tion that ac­quires its mem­ber­ship from sec­ondary schools.”

“The main ob­jec­tive of the Cadet Force,” the Min­istry ex­plains, “is to train and in­spire young men and women to be mod­el cit­i­zens. Em­pha­sis is placed on in­still­ing in the Cadet qual­i­ties such as dis­ci­pline, loy­al­ty and du­ty.”

The Min­istry adds: “The Cadet Force is seen as the base for sourc­ing re­cruits for the Pro­tec­tive Ser­vices and the De­fence Force.”
