The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs has announced the Dominican Republic and T&T will sign an Air Services Agreement, which will facilitate air transportation connectivity soon.
It comes as the Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Sean Sobers, welcomed ambassador of the Dominican Republic, Raquel Jacobo Jaar, in a meeting that discussed trade and investment.
Diplomatic ties between both nations were established in May 1968.
According to a statement from the ministry, ” Discussions highlighted key trade dynamics, including major imports from the Dominican Republic such as plastics, beverages, fruit and nuts, iron and steel, tobacco, salt, paper and electrical machinery, as well as Trinidad and Tobago’s top exports, such as fertilisers, minerals, food preparations, plastics, chemicals and beverages.”
Ambassador Jacobo Jaar likewise emphasised her country’s commitment to deepening engagement with Trinidad and Tobago, noting the potential for further cooperation in areas of trade, cultural exchange and regional partnership.
