Although there was flooding on its compound at Scarborough, Tobago, T&TEC crews are positioned and ready to respond to customers on the island in the wake of Tropical Storm Karen.
In a media release, T&TEC said its crews have been responding to call from Saturday night, into Sunday morning. The T&TEC compound in Scarborough was flooded early on Sunday morning but by 8.30 am floodwaters were receding and 32 vehicles, including trucks and vans, were brought out of the yard to higher ground to enable speedy response.
There have been reports of power outages in approximately 13 areas of Tobago, mostly in the north and east.
"Crews are responding as quickly as possible, once the conditions are safe for them to operate," the release stated.
"The Commission has also mobilised additional crews and trucks from Trinidad to assist in Tobago if necessary, once the sea bridge is reopened.
"Conditions in Trinidad are relatively quiet. We are currently treating with two areas out in the north and east, respectively. Other individual reports are also being addressed in the quickest and safest manner possible."
