The Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) is ad­vis­ing cus­tomers in sev­er­al parts of North, Cen­tral and South Trinidad that they may ex­pe­ri­ence a tem­po­rary dis­rup­tion to their pipe-borne wa­ter sup­ply due to es­sen­tial works be­ing car­ried out by the Trinidad and To­ba­go Elec­tric­i­ty Com­mis­sion (T&TEC).

Ac­cord­ing to WASA, T&TEC will un­der­take a crit­i­cal 20/25MVA trans­former in­stal­la­tion at the Ca­roni Are­na Sub­sta­tion, lo­cat­ed at the Ca­roni Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant. As a re­sult, the 66kV bus will be de-en­er­gised, re­quir­ing a com­plete shut­down of the Ca­roni Wa­ter Treat­ment Fa­cil­i­ty.

The shut­down is sched­uled to be­gin at 10 p.m. on Wednes­day, June 3, and end at 5 a.m. on Thurs­day, June 4.

Dur­ing this pe­ri­od, cus­tomers may ex­pe­ri­ence low wa­ter pres­sure or a com­plete loss of sup­ply.

Af­fect­ed ar­eas in North Trinidad served by Val­sayn Boost­er Sta­tions A and B in­clude Sad­dle Road, San Juan, Bagatelle, Laven­tille Road, Febeau Vil­lage, Mal­ick, Suc­cess Vil­lage, Laven­tille, and Trou Macaque.

Ar­eas served by the El So­cor­ro Boost­er Sta­tion in­clude Barataria, Mor­vant, East Dry Riv­er, Port of Spain, St Barbs, Gon­za­les, St Ann's, Cas­cade, Dibe, Long Cir­cu­lar, St James, Co­corite and Bel­mont.

In Cen­tral and South Trinidad, af­fect­ed ar­eas in­clude Pi­ar­co, Cunu­pia, Ch­agua­nas, Lange Park, Fe­lic­i­ty, Ca­roni Sa­van­nah Road, Bank Vil­lage, Cara­pichaima, Mc Bean, Wind­sor Park, Clax­ton Bay, San Fer­nan­do, Ca­roni North and South Bank Road, En­deav­our, Jern­ing­ham Road, Long­denville, Cal­i­for­nia, Ko­rea Vil­lage, Wa­ter­loo, St Mary's, Cou­va, Es­per­an­za and Mara­bel­la.

The South-West Penin­su­la from San Fer­nan­do to Point Fortin will al­so be af­fect­ed, in­clud­ing La Ro­maine, Phillip­ine, Debe, Siparia, Palmiste, Wood­land, Pe­nal and Fyz­abad.
