Two arrested during anti-crime exercise

A man and a woman, both of Year­wood Street, Thomas Trace, Arou­ca, were ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na and am­mu­ni­tion dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise on Jan­u­ary 12th.
The ex­er­cise was co­or­di­nat­ed by ASP Cog­gins and In­sp Pitt and su­per­vised by Sgt Pam­phille and Cpl Be­dassie, and in­clud­ed of­fi­cers from the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (NDTF) Area Cen­tral and mem­bers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion In­tel Unit.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, a search war­rant was ex­e­cut­ed at a house at Year­wood Street, Thomas Trace, Arou­ca, where 12 rounds of nine-mil­lime­tre am­mu­ni­tion and 683 grams of mar­i­jua­na were found. Both oc­cu­pants of the house were ar­rest­ed and the il­le­gal items seized. Act­ing on in­for­ma­tion the par­ty of of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to a forest­ed area off Lopinot Road, Arou­ca where they found one 12-gauge shot­gun with two 12 gauge car­tridges. No one was ar­rest­ed. PC Sookram is con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
