Two men, both na­tion­als of Co­lum­bia, were fined J$7,000 or sen­tenced to 30 days in prison for en­ter­ing the coun­try il­le­gal­ly.

The men, who ap­peared in court in the cen­tral parish of St. Cather­ine in Fri­day both plead­ed guilty to il­le­gal en­try.

Car­los Jose Flo­res, 37 and Luis Fa­ri­ete, 36, were held dur­ing a joint op­er­a­tion in the parish on Sep­tem­ber 27, fol­low­ing which they were tak­en to a po­lice sta­tion where they were charged with il­le­gal en­try.

In court, the at­tor­ney rep­re­sent­ing the Columbians, Denise Hin­son said her clients want to re­turn home.

The court was told that the Pass­port, Im­mi­gra­tion and Cit­i­zen­ship agency, will be work­ing with the po­lice to arrange for the repa­tri­a­tion of the men.
