Two men, who were de­tained for firearm pos­ses­sion dur­ing a man­hunt for sus­pects in the fa­tal rob­bery at Pen­ny­wise Plaza in La Ro­maine, last month, have been each grant­ed $3 mil­lion bail.

Christo­pher Nor­eiga and Brent Wal­cott were re­mand­ed in­to cus­tody af­ter mak­ing their first court ap­pear­ance, last month, but were grant­ed bail by Se­nior Mag­is­trate Armi­na De­onar­i­nesingh when they reap­peared be­fore her in the San Fer­nan­do Mag­is­trate's Court, ear­li­er to­day.

Un­der the con­di­tions of their bail, the duo was or­dered to re­port to the Arou­ca Po­lice Sta­tion every day for the du­ra­tion of their case. They were al­so placed on a 10 pm to 5.30 am cur­few.

The rob­bery of a cash trans­porta­tion ve­hi­cle oc­curred on Sep­tem­ber 19.

Se­cu­ri­ty guards Jef­fery Pe­ters and Jer­ry Stu­art were shot and killed in the rob­bery, while Their col­league Pe­o­la Bap­tiste was crit­i­cal­ly in­jured but sur­vived.

Four of the six men al­leged­ly in­volved in the in­ci­dent were shot and killed by po­lice as they tried to evade cap­ture at a house in La Ro­maine.

Po­lice seized sev­er­al firearms and re­cov­ered the stolen cash.

Nor­eiga and Wal­cott, who were not charged in re­la­tion to the rob­bery, were ar­rest­ed by po­lice the fol­low­ing day af­ter they were al­leged­ly seen in La Ro­maine, hold­ing two AR-15 as­sault ri­fles, sim­i­lar to those used in the rob­bery.

They were joint­ly charged with firearm traf­fick­ing and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion.

The duo, rep­re­sent­ed by at­tor­ney Alex­ia Romero, is ex­pect­ed to reap­pear in court, next month
