Two women police constables were among four women arrested during an early morning operation yesterday, as police launched a probe into an alleged Housing Development Corporation (HDC) scheme.
In a media release, the TTPS said the co-ordinated exercise began around 3.50 am and took place across the Arima, Chaguanas, and San Juan districts.
The TTPS said officers executed two warrants, resulting in the arrest of the two police officers and two other female suspects.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin directed the operation, with Assistant Commissioners Knutt and Tewarie leading the exercise.
Senior Superintendent Kirk, Superintendents Jackman, Jankie and Lutchman, along with ASP Lynch and Women Inspectors McKenzie, Thomas, Guy, and Francis also supported the effort.
The TTPS said the operation drew on the combined resources of specialised units, including the Professional Standards Bureau, the Fraud Squad, the Special Investigations Unit, the Financial Intelligence Unit, the Inter-Agency Task Force, and the Anti-Corruption Investigation Bureau.
Police said investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
