Two firearms and a quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion were seized by of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion on Fri­day.

Of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion­al Task Force con­duct­ed an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise be­tween 2 pm and 7 pm. Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, the team re­ceived cred­i­ble in­for­ma­tion which led them to a track off Up­per Dun­don­ald Hill, St James, where they con­duct­ed an ex­ten­sive search of the area and found a black plas­tic bag con­tain­ing a black met­al ob­ject, which ap­peared to be a Re­volver firearm. The item was seized and PC An­der­son is con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.

The par­ty of of­fi­cers then pro­ceed­ed to Has­sanali Street, Rich Plain, Diego Mar­tin, where they searched a bushy lot of land and found a black Smith and Wes­son firearm, fit­ted with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 16 rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion. The firearm was seized and PC Rogers is con­tin­u­ing en­quiries in­to the find.
