Two Arouca men were arrested minutes after they tried to shoot another man at his home on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the man was at his Bertie Road, Five Rivers, home when he noticed a group of men with guns.
The gunmen entered the unlocked house and fired at the man but missed before escaping.
Officers of the Arouca Police Station and the North-Central Division Task Force were called in and arrested two men, aged 31 and 34.
Police said the incident began earlier on Tuesday afternoon when the victim was confronted by one of the men, who reportedly drove a car directly towards him.
The victim, who was carrying an air pistol, pointed it at the attacker, causing him to leave.
Crime Scene Investigators found two spent 9 mm shells at the scene.
