Two men were ar­rest­ed and three firearms and quan­ti­ties of am­mu­ni­tion and nar­cotics were seized, dur­ing an­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es con­duct­ed in the South West­ern and East­ern Di­vi­sions, yes­ter­day. 

In a state­ment, the TTPS said of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise in the Point Fortin dis­trict around 7:40 pm yes­ter­day, dur­ing which they pro­ceed­ed to Sev­enth Street, Techi­er Vil­lage, where they ob­served a group of men stand­ing along the road­way. 

On see­ing the of­fi­cers, the men fled the scene. 

A search of the area re­sult­ed in one Smith and Wes­son re­volver, loaded with one round of am­mu­ni­tion be­ing dis­cov­ered in a bushy area. 

Mean­while, in the East­ern Di­vi­sion, Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 10 am and 3 pm, yes­ter­day, dur­ing which they pro­ceed­ed to North East­ern Set­tle­ment, San­gre Grande, where they ar­rest­ed a 27-year-old man for al­leged­ly be­ing in pos­ses­sion of a quan­ti­ty of cannabis. 

The same par­ty of of­fi­cers, act­ing on in­for­ma­tion re­ceived, then pro­ceed­ed to Fos­ter Road, where they con­duct­ed a search, which re­sult­ed in the re­port­ed dis­cov­ery of one pis­tol, loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 13 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion, un­der a fruit tree.

A 35-year-old man from the area was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find. 

Al­so, in the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion, an ex­er­cise spear­head­ed by ACP Col­lis Hazel, was con­duct­ed be­tween 5 am and 9 am yes­ter­day, dur­ing which of­fi­cers, act­ing on in­for­ma­tion re­ceived, pro­ceed­ed to a forest­ed area off Todd’s Road, Ca­paro. There, they con­duct­ed a search, which re­sult­ed in the dis­cov­ery of a home­made shot­gun and one 12 gauge car­tridge.
