Two held in KFC

Two men were ar­rest­ed in the carpark of a fast-food out­let on Car­ni­val Tues­day with two loaded hand­guns.

A 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, both of Diego Mar­tin, were be­ing held at the Four Roads Po­lice Sta­tion up un­til late yes­ter­day.

A Glock 17 pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 15 rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion and a Glock 34 pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 15 rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion were seized.

A re­lease from the TTPS said the men were held by of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in the Diego Mar­tin dis­trict.

Po­lice re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that two men were seat­ed out­side the KFC restau­rant at St Lu­cien Road armed with weapons.

Of­fi­cers led by Supt Pe­ter Do­minique and su­per­vised by Cpl Nicholas Nurse were in­volved in the bust.

Of­fi­cers went to a parked sil­ver Nis­san Ti­i­da sedan which was parked out­side the restau­rant.

Dur­ing a search of the sus­pects, the weapons were found in their pos­ses­sion.

Se­nior of­fi­cers said the men were not charged but be­ing ques­tioned un­til late yes­ter­day.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
