Two men remain hospitalised following a mid-morning shooting in Laventille yesterday.
The incident occurred around 10.30 am at the basketball court in John John, Quarry Road, Laventille.
Police said a 50-year-old man of no fixed place of abode was shot multiple times and had to undergo emergency surgery, while a 45-year-old man of Picton Road, Laventille, was shot twice in the left leg.
Officers on mobile patrol were alerted about the shooting by residents in the area, and arrived to find blood and four spent 9 mm shells on the road.
Residents who responded when the incident occurred rushed the injured men to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
Officers visited the hospital, where they were informed that both men had been treated and were in a stable condition.
