Homicide officers are searching for the suspects behind two separate murders which occurred in Chaguanas on Monday.

Police said the last incident occurred around 10.45 pm when Mark Harracksingh, 29, of Gout Street, Exchange, Couva, was shot while in the vicinity of the JMMB Bank, Southern Main Road, Chaguanas.

Police retrieved six 9 mm spent shell casings from the scene.

Police said Harracksingh and his common-law wife, Akeela Mitchell, who are both vendors, completed sales and were exiting the compound of the Flea Market at the Mid Centre Mall, Chaguanas, via the southern gate opposite the JMMB Bank when a vehicle approached them.

One of the three occupants in the car opened fire on Harracksingh killing him on the spot.

A motive is yet to be established.

Meanwhile, a few hours before, Kerwin Lezama was found stabbed to death around 3.35 pm in a grassy area on the compound of Centre City Mall, Chaguanas.

Police said their enquiries revealed that at about 3.30 pm Lezama and a close female relative were at Centre City Mall when they both had an altercation.

It is alleged that the woman was armed with a knife.

A short while after Lezama was found dead.

During my consultation with Ms Brafit CEO Nicole Joseph-Chin, what was supposed to be a simple mastectomy bra fitting became something much deeper. Her thoughtful questions unlocked emotions I didn’t even realise I was holding in. She comforted, reassured, and helped me face the truth of what was coming. That bra wasn’t just clothing—it was the first real symbol of life after surgery.
