Two more deaths, almost 100 new COVID cases

The Min­istry of Health is re­port­ing there have been two more deaths from COVID-19—two el­der­ly per­sons, which brings the na­tion­al to­tal to 60 deaths.

Ac­cord­ing to the Min­istry’s lat­est up­date, the man and woman had pre-ex­ist­ing health con­di­tions.

The Min­istry al­so re­ports that an­oth­er nine­ty-eight (98) ad­di­tion­al per­sons have test­ed pos­i­tive for COVID-19, but notes that these are the re­sults from sam­ples tak­en dur­ing the pe­ri­od Sep­tem­ber 4th to Sep­tem­ber 16th, 2020, and are not rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the pos­i­tive cas­es over the last 24 hours on­ly.

Al­so in its lat­est up­date to­day, the Min­istry re­ports the fol­low­ing:

●  The num­ber of ac­tive cas­es in the coun­try now stands at 1,905.

●  There have been six hun­dred and fifty-five (655) re­cov­ered com­mu­ni­ty cas­es. Re­cov­ered com­mu­ni­ty cas­es re­fer to per­sons who were pre­vi­ous­ly COVID-19 pos­i­tive and in self-iso­la­tion at home and sub­se­quent­ly met the dis­charge cri­te­ria and were re­leased from self-iso­la­tion.

●  The to­tal num­ber of per­sons who have been dis­charged from pub­lic health fa­cil­i­ties is 814.
