Two people, ages 75 and 56 years, were robbed while in the Trincity Mall car park in the vicinity of Tru Valu Supermarket on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a police report, around 2:45 pm, both victims were accosted by a man armed with a firearm who announced a robbery. The suspect subsequently dealt several blows to the head of the 56-year-old man causing injuries and then relieved him of a bag containing $600.

The 75-year-old woman was also relieved of her handbag which contained $600.

The suspect subsequently escaped in a waiting white Toyota Axio bearing registration number PDE 7348 which drove out of the mall compound and in an easterly direction along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway.

Based on information received, PC Nunez and PC Scott found the white Toyota Axio abandoned along District Way Circular in the vicinity of Popeye’s Trincity.

The vehicle was subsequently wrecked to the Arouca Police Station where it was processed by officers of the NDCSI.
